All of KOOSHOO's hair accessories are made from plant-based natural rubber and organic cotton, so at the end of their life they are compostable.

They source their natural tree rubber from a fair trade rubber plantation in India, and the trees are Forest Stewardship Council certified. Your standard cheap-o 50-pack of hair ties are made from 'synthetic rubber,' a petrochemically-derived (plastic) version of rubber!
